You might work for ground services or airline carriers, but the focus here remains working directly with the airline.
The CSA must be familiar with and cognizant of the airline’s policies and procedures for operations to run smoothly and assist customers in time of need.
Experience or Qualification Required:

2. Cargo & Ramp Planner
The powerful yet delicate machinery of an aircraft requires intelligent planning and cargo management.
A cargo and ramp officer’s main job function includes organizing, weighing, and balancing the passengers’ belongings along with other cargo equipment.
The cargo and ramp planner works in noisy conditions on outdoor ramps and should be able to perform general heavy lifting when it comes to fork, baggage tug luggage, conveyors, and truck operation.
Experience or Qualification Required
Along with demonstrated interpersonal, problem-solving, and communication skills, an air cargo planner must be able to handle a considerable amount of heavy lifting.
Having forklift driving experience is an asset given the requirement to move heavy loads within quick deadlines.
3. Reservation Sales Agent
The main duty that this job entails is the operation of a computerized reservation system. Reservation sales agents keep a track of reservations and deal with several customer queries via call.
These include but are not restricted to flight schedules, bookings, airline policies, seat availability, connecting flights, hotel accommodations, and customers’ cargo space.
They recommend services as per each customer’s unique requirement and are usually familiar with airlines’ schedules and routes.
Experience or Qualification Required
Soft skills required for this profession are often a balanced combination of refined speaking skills and English fluency.
One must be able to somewhat “project” themselves over the phone to meet customers’ needs.
In most cases, airlines prefer having someone with at least one year of sales work experience.
Candidates must hold a high school diploma or graduation certificate for the application process.
Although many airlines willingly offer on-the-job training, if the candidate has trained at a reputed institute offering complete airport ground staff training, the chances of selection rise.
This is a job demanding speed, tenacity, accuracy, and politeness under pressure. Agents must be willing to work shifts and handle miscellaneous customer-related questions.
4. Ground Attendant:
As travelers, we rarely notice how effortlessly airlines operate for us to get from destination A to B.
This would be impossible without those on the ground to help facilitate this, including those who take care of ticketing, reservations, and directions.
A ground attendant’s work involves a considerable time of standing, working, and walking inside the terminal.
They must adhere to shift work while wearing uniforms to assist passengers.
Experience or Qualification Required
Applicants must be high school graduates.
Having work experience or training in airport ground staff courses is an added advantage.
As a ground attendant may have to assist sometimes at the ticketing counter, having foreign language fluency at international airports is helpful.
